Cameron

In the popular, expensive sneaker resell market, Cameron Rowland is a breath of fresh air for people looking for affordable, authentic kicks. Cameron, a junior at North Carolina A&T, is the owner of RYTC Kicks, short for Resurrect Yourself through Christ & Kicks.

Cameron started RYTC Kicks in 2020 after losing a family member to COVID-19. He recalls his family member motivating him to get serious about selling shoes before his demise.

“He said he would’ve bought shoes from me if I started selling them and from then I started buying up shoes to resell for a profit for that reason, for him”, said Cameron, in remembrance of his late family member.

I have purchased two pairs of sneakers from Cameron’s business simply for the attractive prices and humble customer service. Cameron carries a variety of popular sneakers, to name a few: Yeezy, Jordan, and Nike dunks, yet has some of the fairest prices and deals in the sneaker resell market. When asked why Cameron passionately explained:

“The reason I don’t have hiked up prices is that I remember when I was younger, not having a lot of money for shoes, so I tried coming to a happy medium where I’m able to sell shoes for a decent profit for the shoe, as price varies from shoe to shoe, while still not breaking the bank for my customers,” Cameron added, “Also, my target audience is mostly college students & young adults, so I try to make prices more attractive for them to shop with me.”

Cameron is currently trying to elevate his business by having a third-party company begin authenticating his shoes. There is a drawback for potential customers with the worry of purchasing replicas, which are fake sneakers that look much like the real ones.

“It is a long process, but I will hopefully find a compromise in the near future for that,” he said, “but for now, I just want to provide receipts and proof of purchase for the customer.”

In addition to selling shoes, Cameron will soon be offering cleaning and restoration services for sneakers.

“Nobody wants to have busted shoes, so I will charge for the labor & materials to get the desired result for the customer” said Cameron.
